Steam Up 2017 raised £2090 for our charities £1045 to each Broadstone Scouts and The Dorset Children’s Foundation.
This annual August event, where monies raised help support local charities, features steam engines (who stop off on their way to the Great Dorset Steam Fayre), real ales, ciders, a BBQ/Curry and live music – a winning combination! The 2016 Steam Up took place on the 20th August. We had over 50 engines ranging from showmans engines to minatures. Here is the plan for this year to date (subject to change):
Friday 18th evening – live music starting at 7.30pm from Sixteen String Jack along with 16 real ales & 30 ciders in our outside beer tent.
Saturday 19th – steam engines will be arriving all day and evening, BBQ, live music from 1pm ’til late, bouncy castle, craft stalls, tombola, Real Ale and & cider fest.

Ria Osborne- Kicking off the steam up is Solo vocalist Ria, a soulful exuberant singer, bringing a mix of soul, pop, motown, acoustic, powerful and party tunes!
The Royal T’s The Royal T’s are a vocal harmony trio that play hits from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, modern day and party anthems.
Bierfass “The brainchild of Roy Kirby (sousaphone), Bierfass is a small brass band created to perform German Beer Festival music. Often called an oompah band”
ALTO Duo Father & Son duo playing all your favourite mix of songs
Jack Scrumpy And The MOONSHINERS “This band is Scrumpy and Western but with a vibrant and original twist. Parody, Originals and covers. Its about everyone feeling good and enjoying themselves! ”
Sunday 20th -Come and see the engines leave and “steam up” to the Great Dorset Steam Fayre (hence the name for our event) – come for breakfast and watch them waking up, getting up steam and finally steaming out of our car park.
